In an era where efficiency and innovation go hand in hand, Deloycheet, Inc. Board of Directors has demonstrated how strategic use of technology can translate into real financial savings. From business year 2024 to 2025, the board successfully reduced board meeting fees and travel expenses by $19,942, a result of conducting nearly all meetings via Zoom teleconferencing, with just one in-person gathering during the annual meeting.
“This past year, we made a commitment to do things smarter,” said Board Vice-President Chanda Yates. “We realized that by leveraging technology, we could cut costs without sacrificing productivity or communication.”
Traditionally, board meetings involved significant travel, lodging, and meal expenses. By transitioning to virtual meetings, those costs were nearly eliminated. Directors participated remotely from their respective locations, allowing for more frequent communication and quicker decision-making. “The convenience of Zoom teleconferencing meant we could see one another and meet when needed and be more responsive,” said Chairwomen Lena Aloysius. “We found that efficiency went up, not down.”
The board still recognized the importance of gathering face-to-face at least once a year to maintain strong working relationships and hold key discussions that benefit from in-person collaboration. The annual meeting, held in Holy Cross, provided that opportunity while keeping travel costs to a minimum.
This experience showed us that smart technology and good planning can make a real difference. We’re proud that our board worked together to find solutions that save money, respect the environment, and benefit our shareholders.
With the success of this initiative, the board plans to continue using a hybrid model, virtual for regular meetings, and one in-person session annually to maintain both fiscal responsibility and organizational cohesion.
